Marketplace best practices
Essential rules for each marketplace (Vinted, eBay, Leboncoin, Etsy, Vestiaire) to sell in compliance with StoFlow and avoid sanctions, suspensions or bans.
This page sets out the rules for using StoFlow, marketplace by marketplace. In accordance with Article 6 bis of the Terms of Sale, the Customer's failure to follow these best practices releases StoFlow from all liability in the event of a sanction, suspension or ban imposed by a marketplace.
Cross-cutting rules
These rules apply to all marketplaces, without exception.
Connection and accounts
- One active connection per marketplace per StoFlow account, except for Vinted, which supports several accounts simultaneously (see the dedicated section).
- The connected marketplace account must belong to the user. It is forbidden to connect the account of a third-party reseller or to act on their behalf through StoFlow.
- Never share the credentials or the session of a single marketplace account between several StoFlow accounts or several people.
Network and connection
- Use your usual internet connection. Connections going through certain corporate networks, relays or anonymisation services may be refused by marketplaces in accordance with their terms of use.
Publishing and pace
- Bulk publications must be spaced out. StoFlow automatically applies the necessary delays; do not try to circumvent these limits through manual actions carried out in parallel on the marketplace.
- A publishing pace that is too sustained may expose the account to a temporary or permanent suspension by the marketplace.
Tax compliance
- Above €3,000 of annual revenue or 20 transactions on a marketplace, declaring the income is mandatory in France (micro-entrepreneur status or equivalent).
- VAT thresholds vary from country to country: check the local regulations before publishing on foreign marketplaces (such as eBay GB and DE).
- StoFlow does not manage the tax obligations of its users. This responsibility lies exclusively with the seller.
Vinted
Multiple accounts
Vinted allows several Vinted accounts to be connected simultaneously in StoFlow. Each account is managed independently and securely by StoFlow.
Hashtags
Vinted filters hashtags in descriptions. StoFlow automatically removes hashtags at publication. Do not try to reintroduce hashtags into product descriptions.
Connection mode
StoFlow supports two Vinted connection modes:
- Chrome extension: connection through the StoFlow browser extension in your local Chrome
- Cloud mode: secure connection through the StoFlow Cloud service, with no extension to install
Do not mix the two modes for a single account. The mode can be set per account in Marketplace → Connections → Vinted.
Session reset
If a Vinted session must be reset (lost connection, expired session), use exclusively the Reset session function in the Cloud mode settings. Do not carry out side manipulations in parallel, which could be interpreted as suspicious by the marketplace.
eBay
Automatic renewal (GTC)
eBay automatically manages the renewal of active listings through the Good Till Cancelled (GTC) system. A published listing stays active indefinitely until it is sold or deleted manually.
Restricted categories
eBay applies its own policies to certain categories: luxury (mandatory authentication), alcohol (prohibited in most countries), weapons and weapon parts (strict regulation). StoFlow does not handle the eBay certification process for these categories; the seller must ensure their compliance directly with eBay.
Return policy
eBay requires a minimum of 30 days for returns to maintain a satisfactory seller level. Below this threshold, the seller account may be downgraded and lose its visibility benefits.
Multiple eBay marketplaces
StoFlow publishes on 9 European eBay marketplaces. Each eBay marketplace is subject to its own local laws (VAT, customs duties, product regulations). The seller is responsible for legal compliance in each country of publication.
Etsy
Automatic renewal
Etsy automatically renews listings every 4 months, with a charge of USD 0.20 per renewal. StoFlow does not trigger any republication action on the Etsy side; the cycle is entirely managed by the marketplace.
Definition of "Vintage"
On Etsy, a product is classified as Vintage only if it is at least 20 years old. Publishing a product less than 20 years old in the Vintage category is a violation of Etsy policies and may lead to the removal of the listing and the suspension of the account.
"Handmade" declaration
Products declared as handmade (Handmade) on Etsy must be created or designed by the seller. Declaring a resold product as Handmade is a fraud against Etsy policies. This declaration is the exclusive responsibility of the seller.
Leboncoin
Automatic filtering
StoFlow automatically removes all hashtags from descriptions before publication on Leboncoin. Do not try to circumvent this filter by reintroducing # into descriptions or through custom description templates.
Limits per category
Leboncoin applies listing limits per category and per département. These limits vary and are revised by Leboncoin without notice. StoFlow applies delays between publications to stay within the known normal usage capacities; carrying out manual publications on Leboncoin in parallel may exceed these capacities and lead to sanctions.
Listing renewal
Leboncoin listings expire after durations that vary by category (often 60 to 90 days). StoFlow does not manage the automatic renewal of Leboncoin listings; tracking it is the responsibility of the seller.
Vestiaire Collective
Single account
Vestiaire Collective imposes a 1 user = 1 account relationship. StoFlow does not support multiple accounts on Vestiaire Collective. Any attempt to connect several VC accounts to the same StoFlow account will be rejected.
Photo upload
Vestiaire Collective requires a specific upload format for photos. StoFlow handles this format automatically (3 required fields: product identifier, photo data, sidecar index). Do not upload photos directly from the Vestiaire site while a StoFlow publication is in progress; this creates data conflicts.
Relist
Vestiaire Collective manages the relisting of products on the marketplace side. StoFlow does not trigger any republication action on Vestiaire Collective. Any relist request must be made directly from the Vestiaire Collective interface.
Sanctions and consequences
On the marketplace side
Failure to follow the rules above may lead, depending on the marketplace, to:
- Silent removal of listings (Leboncoin hashtags, Vinted filtered content)
- Temporary suspension of the seller account (pace too sustained, non-compliant connection)
- Permanent ban of the account (unauthorised multiple accounts, prohibited categories)
- Loss of visibility (degraded seller level on eBay, poor rating on Vinted)
On the StoFlow side
In accordance with Article 6 bis of the Terms of Sale:
- Failure to follow the best practices listed on this page releases StoFlow from all liability with regard to sanctions imposed by marketplaces.
- In the event of abusive use of StoFlow (exceeding the normal usage capacities of marketplaces, use that does not comply with these rules, connection of third-party accounts), StoFlow reserves the right to suspend or terminate the StoFlow account without refund.
Changes to the best practices
Marketplace policies change frequently and without notice. This page is updated as soon as a significant change is identified.
- In the event of a major change, an email notification is sent to the active users concerned.
- It is recommended to consult this page before any bulk publishing campaign.
- The rules specific to each marketplace remain those officially defined by each marketplace: this page documents the rules known to date, with no guarantee of completeness.
For any question on the application of these rules to your situation, contact StoFlow support via the support page. See also the FAQ and the video tutorials.
