Black Friday, on Friday 27 November 2026, and the weekend that follows until Cyber Monday on Monday 30 November, concentrate a traffic peak on every marketplace at the same time: the real risk for a multi-marketplace reseller is not a lack of visitors, it is selling the same product twice because removing it elsewhere took a few minutes too long. A dated, week-by-week checklist lets you arrive at the peak ready rather than endure it.
The subject already has two guides on this blog: one on crosslisting and one on stock sync. Black Friday changes nothing about these principles, it puts them under strain.
Why is Black Friday a separate double-sale risk?
The rest of the year, a window of a few minutes between a sale and its removal elsewhere remains a theoretical risk. During the weekend of 27 to 30 November, the number of buyers who look at each listing is multiplied: that same window is much more likely to be exploited by a second buyer before you have had time to remove the listing elsewhere.
That is the difference between managing a handful of listings over the year and facing a peak concentrated over four days: the problem is not new, but the likelihood of it happening changes scale. If you already manage several hundred listings day to day, the subject is even more sensitive, see our guide on managing a large volume of listings.
Six weeks before, mid-October: what should you wrap up?
Six weeks before, the aim is to prepare the groundwork before thinking about promotion: your stock, your quotas and your pricing rules.
- Sort your stock and identify what you want to feature. Pieces that have been sitting for several months are good candidates for a discount: you free up space and limit the damage on pieces that would not have sold at full price anyway.
- Check your live product and connected marketplace quotas. If you plan to add stock or an extra marketplace for the peak, this is the time to check that your current plan allows it, not the week of 24 November.
- Set your pricing policy before touching anything. If you sell with a professional status, every discount announcement will have to show the lowest price charged in the previous 30 days (rule in force since 28 May 2022). In practice, that means not artificially inflating a price in mid-November to announce a fake discount on 27 November: the reference price is calculated over the preceding month, not on the price displayed the day before.
Two weeks before, mid-November: how do you schedule without doing everything at the last minute?
Two weeks before, the focus shifts to operational preparation: each marketplace has its own discount tool, and they are not scheduled in the same way.
- On Vinted, the discount is set up in the profile settings ("Proposer des réductions sur les lots", the bundle discounts option): only standard sellers can switch it on, not pro accounts, with a rate adjustable by band according to the number of products bought.
- On eBay, sellers with a shop can schedule a sale event in advance, with an automatic start and end date, on Buy It Now listings (auctions are not eligible).
- On Leboncoin, there is no discount mechanism as such: the lever is visibility, with a paid option to bump a listing to the top of the list, without changing how long the listing is displayed.
- Prepare your visuals and titles in batches, rather than listing by listing: this is when batch publishing saves the most time, before the peak starts.
During the peak, 27 to 30 November: how do you keep going without overselling?
During the four days of the peak, the absolute priority shifts from promotion to reliability: every sale must lead to an immediate removal on all the other marketplaces where the product is live.
- Tighten your vigilance on removal: if you manage your sync by hand, a check every few minutes rather than several times a day becomes necessary for as long as the peak lasts.
- Switch to automatic confirmation where you have the choice. Some marketplaces let you choose whether a listing is removed on its own or waits for your manual validation: a validation that drags on for a few minutes during a peak is exactly the window in which a double sale happens.
- Centralise your messages rather than juggling between apps: the volume of questions and offers explodes during the peak, and a buyer without a quick reply often turns to another listing.
- Note every incident (double sale, missed message, cancellation) at the moment it happens, to adjust your method next year.
After Black Friday, 1 to 15 December: what is left to deal with?
Once the peak has passed, two jobs are waiting: the after-sales backlog, and the return to a normal pricing policy.
- Deal first with pending messages and disputes. A sales peak mechanically generates a peak of questions, returns and sometimes disputes in the days that follow: dealing with them quickly limits negative reviews.
- Put your prices back to their usual level, keeping a record of what sold, at what price and on which marketplace: that is the data that will let you calibrate the next operation better.
- Be careful if you follow with another discount straight after (winter sales, end-of-year festivities): in the case of successive discounts over a given period, the reference price remains the one before the very first discount of the period, not the one charged just before the second.
How does a crosslisting tool reduce the risk during the peak?
The risk of a double sale during a peak is not inevitable: it comes from the delay between the sale on one marketplace and its removal on the others, a delay that an automated tool reduces to a few moments instead of several minutes of manual checking.
This is where StoFlow positions itself: sale detection moves the product to sold as soon as it sells somewhere, to avoid leaving it live elsewhere, and this automatic delisting is included from the Free plan, not reserved for a paid plan. From the Pro plan, messaging is centralised across all your marketplaces and recurring questions can get an AI-generated reply, which you keep under control before sending if you wish. If you plan to open a marketplace, increase your number of products for sale or move up a plan for the occasion, check the plans and their quotas before mid-November, not on the 26th.
Black Friday is not prepared any differently from the rest of the year, it is just prepared earlier and more rigorously: sorted stock, compliant prices, a sync that leaves no window open, and a plan for the week that follows. It is this calendar discipline, not a simple pricing tip, that makes the difference between making the most of the peak and enduring it.
